Caring Conversation Series

Are you or someone you love involved in caring for another person? Caregiving can take many forms and happen in many ways. It can be shopping for groceries for a neighbor, driving a loved one to a medical appointment, or providing support for a short or long period of time. You may be helping someone who needs round the clock care. You may be spending more and more time dealing with medical issues that are affecting a loved one. The person receiving care may live close by, or be many miles away.

Most of us will be caregivers at some point in our lives. Sometimes this is expected, and sometimes caregiving happens suddenly as the result of an accident or illness. There are many physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of caregiving. The January 17 HOW TO BE A RESILIENT CAREGIVER conversation will provide an opportunity for a faith based discussion of caregiving, time to share stories of caregiving, and an opportunity to build resilience through prayer and fellowship.

Blue Christmas

Blue Christmas

A Blue Christmas service offers people a sacred space to not only remember their loved ones who have passed, but also to name their losses and griefs from the previous year, or maybe to recognize their disappointments or loneliness or fears. It is a refuge, of sorts. A way to acknowledge that they are not alone in the midst of their hurt. That others are hurting, too.

Giving Thanks Together

Please join us for a traditional Thanksgiving meal provided by the church and congregational members.

This event is especially for seniors that do not have family in town or a place to go for the holiday. We are happy to host anyone who does not have a place to go for Thanksgiving though. No one should be alone for the holidays.

Interested in helping with the event?

  • Volunteer to help! (set up, serve food, bag leftovers, help clean up)

  • Donate money to help buy turkeys and containers.

  • Bring food to share at the meal!

  • Invite friends and neighbors (especially seniors) that would be alone otherwise.
