Today’s word of Thankfulness is Gift
What gift? All of them; the gift of life, of time, of family, of community, etc…. There are so many gifts we receive each day from God, that today I am thankful for the gift. However, it might come to me today. My prayer is that I don’t miss or not appreciate the gift because I become distracted or desire a different gift. The power of a gift is that it is based upon the desire of the giver and not the receiver. So it is with God’s gifts, they are given out of God’s love for us and not based upon our desires or wants. Thus, they are true gifts. Today is my last reflection on thankfulness. For advent, I will be posting thoughts and questions to help prepare you for each week’s sermon theme. I pray that you have a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving.
